Do you take away garden waste?
Unfortunately, we do not currently have the facility to take away the waste from the work we’ve carried out in your garden.
One of two options would be on-site composting, which ultimately is better because you can re-use the composted waste to nourish your own soil and saves us driving our van halfway across the county to dispose of it! The other option would be hiring in a skip for large projects and overhauls.
Do you have a minimum number of hours?
When we visit a garden to assess what is required we’ll usually tell you there and then whether we think that there are enough hours of work to make it worth the journey and time for us. Of course this is all dependant on how often we are required. For example a smaller garden may have more beds than lawn, so can be quite labour intensive and require more time than you think. Generally, if we think there is at least a couple of hours for the two of us then it’s worth it.
Do I need to be at home while you’re working?
No, not really, unless we need to go through the house to gain access to the rear. Many of our customers have second homes in the area, some of whom we’ve worked years for, without seeing them more than a dozen times in that period. Of course it is better if you are around to make us tea and discuss your garden!
Do you bring your own tools?
Yes, we come equipped to tackle most tasks. It’s always best to give us a heads up if there is something specific that you need us to do.
A few other bits of information…
We usually bring our dog with us, not always, but most of the time and if you don’t want her to be let loose in your garden then that’s fine, Just let us know.
Another thing is that we are not early risers, so no knocking on the door at 8am. We mostly do gardening for the fun of it and to make a bit of money to fund our low input/low output lifestyle.
